Former West Coast star Daniel Kerr has been "found unresponsive and intoxicated" on a main street of West Australian city Kalgoorlie, according to The West Australian.

The report states that police and ambulance were called onto the scene after he was found by a member of the public on Hannan Street just after 7:30am on Tuesday morning.

He was reportedly "intoxicated but uninjured" and taken to Kalgoorlie Health Campus 30 minutes later.

The 2006 premiership player played down the whole situation as a “bit of a joke” on Tuesday night and dismissed any concerns about his health.

He told The West Australian he had not broken the law and was just having fun with his mates.

It is not the 36-year old's first run-in with the law, having been involved in several other controversies. They include alcohol and drug-related scandals and an eight-month jail sentence in 2015 for assault charges.

Kerr retired in 2013 after 220 games with the Eagles.
