Hawthorn's Adam Yze and Scott Burns remain in the race for the Adelaide coaching job, according to Channel Seven's Tom Browne.

It comes after the reports that the duo have been ruled out of the Crows' search, with Yze signing an extension to remain an assistant at Hawthorn until the end of 2022.

But Browne believes both Yze and Burns are both still very much in the frame.

"Adem Yze, it’s been reported has recommitted to Hawthorn and is out of the Adelaide coaching race - he is still in the Adelaide coaching race in my view,” Browne told Channel Seven's The Trade Game.

“He did that assistant coaching deal with Hawthorn a couple of weeks ago which was announced at their best and fairest - he is still in the mix.

“I also understand contrary to reports that Scott Burns is still in the mix. It's quite an open race.

Browne added on Triple M's The Hot Breakfast this morning that Giants assistant Matthew Knicks and Tigers assistant Adam Kingsley are also in the running in what has become a four-horse race.

“It’s a four-way race with four or five days of that search left to go,” he said.

“I think they’ll have to announce a coach by probably early next week.”
