Collingwood veteran Ben Reid has told the Sunday Herald Sun he wants to remain a one-club player and will sign with the Pies to extend his career into a 13th season.
The veteran swingman, who turns 29 today, has quickly become an important member of Collingwood setup in 2018, and is one of the main reasons for their early season successes.
Despite an injury plagued career that has seen Reid play more than five games in just six of his 12 seasons at Collingwood, the forward is enjoying his most recent stretch of consistency.
Reid has played 36 of the Pies' past 46 games, and is hoping that streak extends beyond the current season.
“I definitely want to be a one-club player,” Reid told the Sunday Herald Sun ahead of the Pies' round five clash against the ladder-leading Tigers.
“You get to finish your career at the club you started and have your name on the locker, so I definitely want to stay here and fingers crossed that happens.
“This is my 12th year, I love it here and it’s my home, but Paul (Connors, Reid's manager) will take care of all that.
“I’m just concentrating on taking care of footy each week and what will be will be.”
Reid is a free agent at season's end, and has stated his intentions to turn down any offers from rival clubs.
