Ranking the top 10 players from Semi-Final week

Semi-Final week may not have lived up to last week but the individual performances were no less captivating. Richmond handled St Kilda with all the professionalism of a two-time premiership side while the Cats obliterated Collingwood at the Gabba. No shock to find the top 10 players of the week shared between the two winning teams considering the fashion they advanced in. Brandan Parfitt (Geelong) Parfitt was strong at the contest on Saturday Night, for a player with such silky skills he lacks no toughness. He laid a game-high nine tackles and was at the forefront of Geelong's manic pressure. (Photo by Adam Trafford/AFL Media/Getty Images)[/caption] Lachie Henderson (Geelong) Henderson has salvaged his career in 2020, delisted at the end of 2019 and was soon re-rookied, he has been enormous since returning to the senior side. Saturday night was his best performance to date, taking 14 marks as he intercepted brilliantly and was key in helping Geelong compress the ground and lock away the Pies forwards. He lifted when his club needed and played terrifically. His ball use was as tidy as always and he used his speed and hard running to provide a crucial link between half back and forward of centre. (Photo by Adam Trafford/AFL Media/Getty Images)[/caption] Shai Bolton (Richmond) Wasn't at his best last week as he let his frustration get the better of him, but he returned with the miraculous against the Saints. He booted three goals, two of which came in the first quarter and were out of this world clever to set the tone for the Tigers' emphatic win. His vision and poise on the ball showed the Saints that they may be some way off from that crucial finals experience. If you were looking for a sign from the reigning champs, Edwards' class was it. He had 32 disposals and used the ball as well as ever, his rebounding off half back was paramount for the Tigers who looked to deprive the Saints of the footy when going forward. Good ball use is key to that and Houli provided it. (Photo by Graham Denholm/AFL Photos/Getty Images)[/caption] Tom Stewart (Geelong) 14 marks from Stewart may have been a sign of the pressure Geelong's midfield was putting on, but the ability to mark the ball and launch attacks as opposed to killing the ball separates good sides from contenders. Stewart was key to Geelong's ability to win the ball back and launch attack after attack. Has become a proven finals performer. The Coleman medalist stood up and dominated Jordan Roughead. He had 17 disposals and booted 4 majors as he dominated in the air in Geelong's forward 50 with 9 marks. He kicked 4 straight including two from what seemed like an impossible angle with a right foot banana. He did it with an ease and nuance that oozed class. Dangerfield forward makes the Cats a whole different beast going into the final two weeks of the season. As per usual with Duncan, he used the ball better than most on the field and was damaging with his disposals. Often goes under the radar but is a barometer for Geelong and will be a huge plus this year around having missed last year's preliminary final loss. Expect him to have a massive say on Geelong's fortunes.
