Geelong coach Chris Scott's old-fashioned spray in Round 1 was a glimpse of football's past.
The Cats trailed by 33 points at quarter-time against Fremantle in front of a home crowd, and stared down the barrel of a 0-2 start for the third time in Scott's tenure.
"We weren't playing the way we wanted to play," Geelong forward Shannon Neale shared shortly after they secured the victory.
"I think the word disgraceful was used."
Geelong assistant coach Nathan Buckley said, on Fox Footy, Scott's quarter-time assault was "a four or five out of 10".
Scott's spray was reminiscent of his predecessors, and with that, we've taken the liberty of compiling the top 10 coaching sprays.
3Malcolm Blighted Crows ruck
It didn't take long for Malcolm Blight to make his presence felt at Adelaide. In fact, it took one match and shortly after the opening bounce of Round 2, in 1997.
Ruckman David Pittman felt his calf go, but was told to persist by Blight. It went again.
Pittman failed to play out the game, copping serves at every break, despite not being on the field for the majority of the match.

"To start like that means you won't win," Blight said post-game to Channel Seven.
"Particularly with a pathetic effort from Pittman in ruck. It was the most disgraceful display I've ever seen from a big fella and that's pretty hard on an individual, but he's got to live with that."
