Geelong coach Chris Scott's old-fashioned spray in Round 1 was a glimpse of football's past.
The Cats trailed by 33 points at quarter-time against Fremantle in front of a home crowd, and stared down the barrel of a 0-2 start for the third time in Scott's tenure.
"We weren't playing the way we wanted to play," Geelong forward Shannon Neale shared shortly after they secured the victory.
"I think the word disgraceful was used."
Geelong assistant coach Nathan Buckley said, on Fox Footy, Scott's quarter-time assault was "a four or five out of 10".
Scott's spray was reminiscent of his predecessors, and with that, we've taken the liberty of compiling the top 10 coaching sprays.
10Ross showing young Saint who's boss
Hugo Garcia was on the backend of a Ross Lyon spray, which sent shivers down the spine of those privy to the footage.
Garcia was subbed out of the Saints' Round 7 defeat to Brisbane in the opening half last year, playing just 20 per cent game time while receiving some choice words from Lyon on the interchange.
Ross gives a shit and certainly hates losing. This is a long journey but this is the most animated he’s been since he came back to Moorabbin. pic.twitter.com/keDrNH2ovK

Despite the strong advice, the midfielder responded the following week, and said: "Sometimes you need that whack and last week I deserved it," Garcia told the Herald Sun nearly a year ago.
"You need that whack just to get you going and really put you back in line, which I love. He (Lyon) is an awesome coach."
