Adelaide has snared four-time premiership Hawk Jarryd Roughead as the GM of List management.

Since his retirement, Roughead has spent the past six years in a variety of roles at St Kilda and Hawthorn, in talent identification and acquisition, trade and free agency and overseeing the recruitment at both St Kilda and Hawthorn.

He played a major part in luring Tom Barrass and Josh Battle to the Hawks.

The gun forward replaces long-time list boss Justin Reid, who took up a role at the AFL in the player movement division.

Roughead's role will revolve around player acquisition and retention, whilst assisting the recruiting team.

"This is a significant appointment for the Club, not only due to the importance of the role but for the calibre of candidate we have found in Jarryd," Crows EGM of Football Adam Kelly said.

"He is widely respected across the football industry, understands the complexities of the current list management landscape and has well established relationships with key stakeholders.

"Beyond the technical capability he clearly demonstrated during the recruitment process, Jarryd showed himself to be a person of great character and integrity, who communicates honestly and authentically, and he possesses a clear vision of what it takes to win.

"We also have great belief that he will be a wonderful leader for our Melbourne-based list management and recruiting team."

Roughead's acquisition comes as the Crows are preparing an all-out assault on Brisbane premiership star Zac Bailey.
