Melbourne free agent Charlie Spargo has told the club he wishes to sign with North Melbourne this off-season.
Spargo falls under the unrestricted band for free agency and is therefore eligible to exercise his rights to move clubs with no restriction from the Demons.
One of seven Demons unsigned for next year, the club is nearing a finalised list for 2026 prior to next month's trade and free agency windows.
The Demons confirmed Spargo's intentions on Wednesday.
“We understand and respect Charlie's decision to pursue further opportunities,” Demons list boss Tim Lamb said in a statement.
“He is a premiership player who will always be welcome at the Dees and we wish him nothing but the best for what lies ahead.”
North Melbourne confirmed Spargo's intentions on Wednesday night.
“We're really pleased Charlie wants to join North Melbourne,” Roos head of football talent Brady Rawlings said.
“As an unrestricted free agent, Charlie can formally accept our offer when the free agency period opens next month.”
The Albury product first joined the Demons via the 2017 AFL Draft, and would make his debut the following year against Essendon, playing 18 games that year.

After struggling for senior minutes in the succeeding two seasons, Spargo would cement his place under Simon Goodwin in 2021 as the Demons went on to claim a famous premiership.
Spargo kicked one goal from seven disposals in his side's triumph over the Western Bulldogs in the season decider.
Since then, Spargo has again struggled to add to his games tally, with 49 games in the past four seasons, as both injury and form have played their part.
An Achilles injury plagued his 2024 season, while a shoulder concern kept him to 10 games this year.
Free agency opens on Friday, October 3, with the signing deadline scheduled for a week later.
The Demons have already confirmed the exits of Kynan Brown (delisted), Tom Fullarton (delisted), Marty Hore (delisted), Oliver Sestan (delisted) and Will Verrall (delisted) since the end of their season.
