Premiership coach Mark Williams has joined Melbourne as the Demons' new Development coach for 2021.

According to The Herald Sun, the highly praised mentor will join Simon Goodwin's coaching box for next season as the Demons aim for a return to the top eight.

Williams famously led Port Adelaide to their maiden AFL premiership in 2004 and has had impressive stints with Richmond and Werribee.

The veteran coach left Richmond prior to their successes and was handed a three-year deal with Werribee, where they returned to finals under Williams' management.
