AFL Grand Final week is upon us, with Geelong and Brisbane set to decide this year's premiership race on Saturday afternoon.

The two sides met in a qualifying final earlier this month, with the Cats cruising to a 38-point victory at the MCG.

That encounter saw Lions ace Lachie Neale hampered by a calf injury that initially had his season come to a close; however, an extensive rehabilitation has since given some life to his playing prospects for this weekend's blockbuster affair.

The two-time Brownlow Medal winner is the big selection watch this weekend, while Geelong have a looming decision of their own after Tom Stewart suffered a concussion in Friday night's win over Hawthorn.

Here are our predicted ins, outs and lineups for the 2025 AFL Grand Final.

The Cats are likely to pick between ruckman Rhys Stanley and lockdown defender Jed Bews to fill the void left by Tom Stewart.

The Stanley call would see Sam De Koning return to a full-time defensive role against the Lions, while utility Mark Blicavs will be given further flexibility to roam the field.

Bringing in Bews would see the premiership Cat likely go head-to-head with Charlie Cameron - a target Bews has had the better of more times than not in the past.

There is still a watch on Geelong duo Jack Henry (lower leg) and Jack Martin (calf), who were both hampered during the win over the Hawks but are expected to play on Saturday.

Whatever change is made, expect Jhye Clark to remain in the sub role following his impressive outing against the Hawks.

Brisbane

The Lions should know early in the week whether Lachie Neale will be playing or not. A solid session on the track by Wednesday will give them the information and confidence they need in the decision, likely taking the call out of the veteran midfielder's hands.

Should he be cleared to play, then it's an easy call for Chris Fagan, who will be forced to replace Jarrod Berry due to a shoulder injury from the weekend.

If Neale falls short of proving his fitness, then the decision is a little trickier. Fringe midfielder James Tunstill might be the man, potentially coming into the side as the sub and moving Bruce Reville onto the field.

Other options for Fagan to weigh up are Deven Robertson, Sam Day, Darragh Joyce, Will McLachlan or Conor McKenna, but Tunstill seems to be the favoured, particularly after coming into the Lions' Round 24 side when Berry was sidelined.
