Port Adelaide youngster Tom Cochrane has sustained a "significant hamstring strain" that will sideline the second-year forward.

Cochrane sustained the injury at training on Monday, with scans confirming a sizeable blow for the second-year Power player.

The injury will require further assessment before the club has a strong grasp on his return timeframe, with the injury expected to keep the teenager on the sidelines for an extended period.

"Port Adelaide forward Tom Cochrane will miss a period of football after sustaining a hamstring injury," a club update read.

"Cochrane suffered the injury during a training drill on Monday, with scans later revealing a significant hamstring strain.

"A clearer timeline for his return will be understood in the coming days."

Cochrane endured an injury-interrupted maiden season at Alberton in 2025, with a foot injury ending his debut campaign abruptly.

The young attacker broke through for a debut in Round 3 and would feature in two further matches before suffering his year-ending setback.
Cochrane joins Sam Powell-Pepper (knee) on the sidelines at Port Adelaide, while Jason Horne-Francis (foot) and Zak Butters (adductor) had recent setbacks but aren't expected to miss any action.

The Power will face West Coast in Perth on March 1 for their Community Series clash, with their Round 1 bout against North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium to come a fortnight later.
