Carlton star Sam Walsh has placed some reassurance to Blues fans that he will be in line to play this weekend after suffering an ankle injury in Saturday's defeat to Gold Coast.
In the dying stages of match, Walsh looked to have sustained the injury after being tackled by Suns midfielder Matt Rowell, sparking fears of a potential syndesmosis injury.
It is understood that Walsh underwent scans on his ankle the following day, with the rising star revealing initial signs were positive.
"Its pulled up pretty well today," Walsh told 7 News.
"Its just expected a bit of soreness around the ankle.
"As I mentioned, it feels stable and feeling good."
7 News did state there are fears that Coleman Medal leader Harry McKay's season could be over, with the star forward sustaining a shoulder injury during Saturday's loss.
McKay came down hard on his right shoulder during a marking contest in the final quarter of the match, but was able to eventually make a return to the field after requiring medical attention.
The 23-year-old did look ginger throughout the final stages of the game after coming back into the match, and has since required scans on his troubled shoulder.
Carlton are yet to confirm the extent of Walsh and McKay's injuries, with fans hoping their star duo are able to feature in Round 22.
Saturday's loss has left the Blues with a minuscule chance to make finals, with wins to the Giants, Bombers, Tigers and Saints all placing further doubt on Carlton's hopes of returning to the top eight.
The Blues will face finals contenders Port Adelaide this weekend before finishing their home and away campaign against Greater Western Sydney.
