Port Adelaide defender Ryan Burton may be in trouble with the AFL's Match Review Officer after committing a dangerous tackle on Collingwood's Jamie Elliott during the Power's clash with the Magpies at the MCG on Saturday.

In the early stages of the second half, Burton, having pinned Elliott's right arm in a tackle, dumped the Pies forward, resulting in a free kick and set shot at goal for Collingwood.

Forward Reef McInnes, Collingwood's tactical substitute on the day, did not come on following the incident, with Elliott appearing OK to continue playing after not undergoing assessment by the Magpies' medical staff.

McInnes, however, was activated a matter of time later, after Collingwood forward Brody Mihocek was ruled out of the contest following a finger injury.

The ailment, innocuous as it seemed, was enough for the Magpies' medical team to take a cautious approach with the important key forward, particularly considering Collingwood's domination of Port Adelaide on Saturday afternoon.

The MRO's findings from Saturday's actin will be revealed on Sunday evening, prompting a nervous wait for Burton.
