Port Adelaide's Ollie Lord is set to spend time on the sidelines after suffering a lacerated kidney after a collision at training this week.

The 21-year-old spent time in hospital in the aftermath of the collision, where scans confirmed he had suffered a kidney injury, but is now recovering at home.

Lord is yet to make his debut for the Power, originally drafted with Pick 49 in the 2020 National Draft as a promising key forward. Hailing from the Sandringham Dragons and Geelong Grammar, Lord is the grandson of Geelong premiership star Alistair Lord.

The Power did not provide a timeline on Lord's recovery, stating that his recovery will become clearer in the coming weeks.

Elsewhere at Port Adelaide, both Jason Horne-Francis and Mitch Georgiades have returned to full training after their respective injuries.

Horne-Francis was recovering from knee surgery in October, while Georgiades underwent a procedure to remove syndesmosis buttons in his ankle last month.
