Port Adelaide is counting the injury cost from its 76-point loss to Geelong in Round 10, with midfielder Jason Horne-Francis and defender Lachie Jones suffering hamstring injuries.

Horne-Francis is expected to miss the next month of football, while Jones could miss up to eight weeks, as scans on Sunday confirmed the hamstring strains.

It is a major blow for the Power, with their season on life support, sitting 15th after 10 weeks with only four wins.

The Alberton club is hopeful that Horne-Francis will return after the Round 12 bye.

Ken Hinkley could also lose half-back Josh Sinn, who was subbed out of Saturday's clash with a sore hip.

Sinn was sent for scans, which showed " significant bruising to the hip, but he has been cleared of serious injury".

The defender is unlikely to feature this weekend but will be assessed throughout the week.

Elsewhere, second-year youngster Xavier Walsh is set to undergo shoulder surgery this week, ultimately ruling him out of the remainder of the 2025 season.

Walsh aggravated the shoulder injury over the past few weeks, but now has an eye on preparing for next year.

Prime movers Jack Lukosius (knee) and Kane Farrell (knee) are still weeks away from returning.

Veterans Travis Boak and Rory Atkins looked poised to regain their spot under Hinkley for the club's upcoming clash with Fremantle.

Dylan Williams and Brandon Zerk-Thatcher are defensive options to help fill the loss of Sinn and Jones.

Small forward Joe Berry also continues to toil away in the SANFL as ruckman Ivan Soldo and Jordon Sweet press their case.
