Port Adelaide's Darcy Byrne-Jones has been ruled out of Sunday's match against Gold Coast after entering the AFL's health and safety protocols.

Byrne-Jones has played all 13 games for the Power in 2022, averaging 21.7 disposals across the season, but will now miss the trip to the Gold Coast to face the in form Suns.

Port have already made several changes for the Sunday afternoon clash, with Brynn Teakle (injured), Tom Clurey (HS Protocols) and Zak Butters (injured) replaced in the squad by Jase Burgoyne, Miles Bergman, Steven Motlop, Taj Schofield, Travis Boak and Trent McKenzie.

The Power have won three of their last five games after a slow start to the season left them languishing in the bottom half of the ladder.

An impressive run of form around the bye weekends has seen the Power climb to 12th spot, just one behind Gold Coast, as the two attempt to shake up the eight heading towards September.

The Suns will be without Wil Powell, who suffered a gruesome leg injury during last weekend's win over Adelaide, joined on the sidelines by Connor Budarick and Joel Jeffrey, also forced out with injury.

The final teams for the clash will be released on Friday evening.
