It is understood that the Western Bulldogs and AFL have both declined to comment on the situation, as they said it was a police matter, according to 9News' Tom Morris.
"Jamarra Ugle-Hagan has been caught up in a non-fatal shooting inside Melbourne's nightclub Love Machine," Morris said.
"He was with a friend when the incident took place in the early hours of Sunday morning. I understand that the friend got into a verbal altercation with another group, then a fight broke out, and then the gun was fired.
"It's believed Ugle-Hagan wasn't physically involved in the scuffle, which took place. Victoria Police tell me they're investigating whether he had any involvement in what happened."
Victoria Police have confirmed the incident took place at 2.25am on Sunday morning outside Love Machine.
The Dogs & AFL both declined to comment, saying it's a police matter.

The Bulldogs forward has been linked to several off-field incidents throughout the year, but he was cleared of any wrongdoing with his car's usage in an alleged drive-by shooting.
Ugle-Hagan has not seen the field this year for the Bulldogs, as he had previously taken a leave of absence from the club for personal reasons.
