Collingwood's Tim Broomhead is in doubt for the Pies' clash with Geelong after suffering a knock to the face on ANZAC Day.
Broomhead played out the match against the Bombers, finishing with 14 disposals, after being assessed by doctors.
The club is awaiting the result of scans, but with just a five day turnaround prior to the clash with the Cats at the MCG, he is racing the clock to be fit.
"There is a bit of soreness there, we're having that scanned and we'll treat that according to what the scan says," Collingwood football boss Geoff Walsh told the club's website.
"There is some doubt about whether Tim will play this week but right now we're still hopeful that the soreness will subside and the scan shows nothing sinister."
He has played four games this season, averaging 17.3 disposals and has kicked 1.5.
Meanwhile, defender Tom Langdon has finally returned to training following several ankle and knee issues over the past 12 months.
“Tom’s ability to join in last week in some of the match simulation and in regular training was really encouraging,” Walsh added.
“In the last seven days he has progressed really well and he will be joining in a session this week, so we are hopeful that even this time next week that we’re looking at Tom getting some sort of clearance."
