Collingwood joins the injury pain as it was revealed that captain Darcy Moore and veteran defender Jeremy Howe were struck down by calf strains at training on Monday.

Moore was seen on the track for the first hour of the session, but was spotted walking from the ground down into the rooms.

The Pies captain was training with the rucks and doing stoppage drills before he whisked away to check on the injured calf.

Howe followed suit, but the injury is believed to be "at the lower end", according to Channel 7's Mitch Cleary.

The pair of injuries comes as star forward Bobby Hill was granted a leave of absence to deal with personal issues.

Collingwood stated that the decision was mutual between the club, Hill and Hill's management.

It comes after a year of similar personal concerns and injury issues for the 2023 Norm Smith medallist, which saw Hill feature at senior level just once after Round 15.

Elsewhere at Collingwood training, Reef McInnes and Dan McStay weren't spotted on Monday, as the pair attempt to put behind them an injury-riddled 2025 campaign.

Premiership defender Isaac Quaynor continued to sit out of the main training session as he is on light duties due to a hamstring concern.

Beau McCreery is working his way back from a lingering foot issue he dealt with towards the end of last season, and was completing speed drills and run-throughs on his own.

Dan Houston participated in most of the session, but stepped away from the main group to undergo run-throughs as he builds his loads.

Collingwood are in full preparation mode as they look towards their Opening Round clash against St Kilda at the MCG on March 8.
