Collingwood fans can rejoice in the fact that their star midfielder, Nick Daicos, has begun running again after an injury scare.

Fears ran through the Magpie camp last week as the son-of-a-gun was seen restricted to a bicycle on the sidelines of the AIA Centre while his teammates trained following the Christmas break.

Reports indicated that Daicos had been diagnosed with plantar fasciitis and was easing back into training.

On Friday, the 22-year-old was seen joining in on drills as well as completing running tasks in a bid to overcome the nagging injury.

The club and Daicos had been aware of the problem pre-Christmas, placing him on a modified program.

Plantar fasciitis is the same injury that hindered teammate and fellow midfielder Tom Mitchell's 2024 campaign, limiting him to six outings due to the debilitating nature of the impairment.

Nick's father and club legend, Peter, suffered from foot stress fractures during his playing days, which reduced him to nine matches in the 1987 season.
