Fremantle have confirmed wingman Blake Acres has sustained a "moderate grade" hamstring injury.

Acres was subbed out of Fremantle's 13-point win over Hawthorn in the final quarter of the game on Saturday.

While the 26-year-old has avoided a serious ailment, the setback is likely to see Acres sidelined for the coming weeks.

With Fremantle scheduled for their bye this weekend, Acres' rehabilitation will be buoyed by the break.

Dockers football boss Peter Bell revealed the extent of the damage, with Acres now set to under a recuperation process.

“Blake has a moderate grade hamstring injury and the Strength and Conditioning team will guide Blake through his reconditioning as his hamstring allows us to,” Bell said.

“It’s obviously disappointing for Blake, who played some great football this season, and he’s motivated to work hard throughout the break to ensure he can return as soon as possible.”

Acres has been a shining light for the Dockers across the course of this season, averaging 21.1 disposals, 5.8 marks, 3.2 tackles and 4.3 inside 50s per game.
