North Melbourne has confirmed that midfielder Jed Anderson is expected to miss up to 10 weeks of football with a serious hamstring injury.

The former Hawthorn player injured his right hamstring during the second quarter of the Roos' 10-point win over Adelaide at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.

“Jed sustained a tear to his proximal hamstring tendon on Saturday night and had scans on Sunday to assess the damage,” North Melbourne Director of Football Geoff Walsh said.

“We anticipate a recovery period of between eight to ten weeks at this stage.

“Given the nature of Jed’s injury, we’ll be in a better position to give a more accurate time frame on his recovery period in the coming weeks.”
