North Melbourne will not be able to select recruit Charlie Spargo in Round 1 as he entered concussion protocols following a knock in the VFL practice match.
Spargo copped a knock to the head during the clash and was removed from the field.
"Unfortunately, Charlie received a head knock early in the game and entered concussion protocols," North Melbourne head of performance Kevin White said.
"Charlie felt like he had symptoms concussion come on after while on the bench after coming off the ground … he was removed from the contest."
Colby McKercher could also be in doubt for the opening clash against Port Adelaide on Sunday.
McKercher, who is battling a broken finger, was set to play in the reserves tune-up game but was withdrawn.
"Match committee wanted Colby to train with the AFL squad [on Saturday] to get connection with that group before this weekend's match," White said.
Senior players Luke McDonald and Aidan Corr successfully returned from injury, with the latter building up his loads over the next few weeks.
McDonald played three quarters and got through the game well.
Callum Coleman-Jones and Bailey Scott were also notable performers, and have put themselves in the frame for the Power clash.
