North Melbourne has added Tom Blamires to its list ahead of the 2026 season.
Blamires has been trialing at Arden Street over the pre-season and was given the opportunity to pull on the Kangaroos jumper last week against Melbourne.
The 2025 Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medallist continues a 19-year legacy of the most promising player in the VFL being picked up by an AFL club.
Blamires has replaced father-son defender Jackson Archer, who injured his ACL last month. Archer was placed on the inactive list for 2026.
Fellow train-on prospect and Sturt player Zac Becker was also in contention for the final list spot at North Melbourne alongside Blamires.
The hard-running defender has spent time at the Sandringham Zebras as well as the Dolphins in the VFL.
Across three seasons, Blamires tallied 50 games across the two clubs, with his time at Frankston clearly fortuitous given his North Melbourne selection.
Blamires feature in all 21 games for the Dolphins in 2025, including the finals, averaging 24.5 disposals and 4.1 tackles to be named in the VFL team of the year.
He went viral during 2025 when it was revealed that he was staffed at Collingwood in the club's commercial team.
