The suspension will mean Williams will be rubbed out for Carlton's Round 1 clash against Richmond.
The Blues' season opener was set to be Williams' first official match in the navy blue, where he will now watch from the sidelines and look ahead to Carlton's Round 2 match against Collingwood on Thursday, March 25 to make his debut with the club.
Carlton will have the option to appeal the ban.
