Geelong speedster Steven Motlop has reportedly held talks with Richmond, as his future at Kardinia Park remains in limbo.

Speculation mounted during the latter part of the season that Motlop could be on the trade table after a disappointing 2016 season.

While he is not thought to have attracted a huge amount of interest at this stage, the Tigers are one club particularly interested in the 25-year-old, according to Channel Seven.

Motlop, who played all 24 games for the Cats this season, is contracted until the end of next season, at which point, he will become a free agent.

Richmond's interest in Motlop could aid Geelong's pursuit of Tigers' veteran Brett Deledio, in what cold be a player swap and a trade of trade picks.

Motlop has kicked 153 goals and averaged 18 disposals per game in 112 matches for the Cats since making his debut in 2010.
