The Western Bulldogs are yet to rule out important pair Sam Darcy and Bailey Dale for Saturday's game against Brisbane at the Gabba.

Darcy (general soreness) and Dale (knee) have been under an injury cloud over the past few weeks.

The father-son gun pulled up sore from State of Origin, and missed the final pre-season clash against Hawthorn last week. Instead, he was put through a training session.

Dale injured his knee a week earlier against the Swans, with scans revealing a low-grade collateral ligament strain.

"To reduce the risk of Sam suffering prolonged issues related to this soreness, Sam didn't play in Friday's practice game and instead completed a football training session," Head of Sports Medicine, Chris Bell said.

"Sam will be monitored across this week to determine his availability ahead of Opening Round against the Lions.

"Similarly, Bailey will train this week before we make a decision around his availability in coming days."

Adam Treloar (calf) won't feature this week against the Lions, with a return timeline to be determined after the week's training sessions.

The Whitten Oval club has taken a conservative approach with Treloar given his history with soft-tissue injuries.

Emerging midfielder Ryley Sanders will miss the clash after he was concussed by an errant ball that was soccered into his head.
