Melbourne youngster Sam Weideman is in doubt for his side's clash with Port Adelaide this weekend due to a corked leg.
Weideman was hugely impressive on debut last week against Hawthorn, kicking two goals and picking up 13 disposals.
Coach Paul Roos says the club will not take any risks with the 19-year-old.
"Sam got a bit of a corkie at the start of the game when he took that mark, so that's probably the only concern with him," he said on Thursday.
"We just don't want any player, let alone a young player, going in underdone. We'll make an assessment on his fitness first and then we'll see where we go from there."
Meanwhile, fellow forward Jesse Hogan is likely to return after missing last week's match with knee injury.
"He did everything we wanted him to do yesterday (Wednesday), so unless he pulled up sore today - which I haven't heard - he should be fine to play," Roos said.
Hogan, who missed his first game of the year last week, has kicked 39 goals in 18 games this season.
