Melbourne Demons backup ruckman Aidan Johnson could be in hot water and face MRO scrutiny following a high bump on star St Kilda defender Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera.

Wanganeen-Milera ran off halfback to collect a loose ball from a centre bounce stoppage and was bumped high by Johnson's shoulder as he put boot to ball.

In the replay vision, Johnson can be seen bracing and turning side on as evidence he elected to bump, before he made direct contact with Wanganeen-Milera's head, who then came to the sidelines to be assessed for a concussion.

The telling footage could see Johnson reprimanded with his second suspension of 2025 after the 193cm key forward was banned for one match for a dangerous tackle on GWS' Callum Brown in Round 1.

A similar act by Collingwood's Dan Houstoun in Round 4 was deemed to be worthy of a two match ban for rough conduct, graded careless with high contact and high impact.

A grading of severe impact could see Johnson sent to the Tribunal however, and face a suspension of three weeks or more.

The 25-year-old was drafted by the Demons as a mature-ager in 2024, and has played five games for the club, including Sunday's Alice Springs clash.

Wanganeen-Milera passed his concussion test fortunately, as young gun Mattaes Phillipou was utilised as the sub early on after suffering a lower calf concern.
