Melbourne has confirmed the club and midfielder Jack Billings have agreed to part ways at the cessation of the veteran's contract.

Billigs' deal with the Demons expired at the end of the 2025 season, with both parties deciding to end their relationship this off-season.

The decision will open a list spot for Melbourne, while Billings will look for opportunities elsewhere in the hope of joining a third AFL club.

Melbourne list manager Tim Lamb thanked Billings for his service to the red and blue.

“I would like to thank Jack for his commitment to the program over the past two years,” Lamb said.

“We wish Jack, his partner Sarah and their son Oscar nothing but the best for the future.”

Billings joined Melbourne from St Kilda at the end of the 2023 season after he spent a decade with St Kilda.

The 30-year-old, who was taken with Pick 3 in the 2013 AFL Draft, played 155 games for the Saints, with his final years at St Kilda plagued by injury.

Billings played just 17 games in his two years with the Demons, 16 of which came in 2024. His sole appearance this year came in Round 3 against Gold Coast.

The confirmed exit of the midfielder follows Kynan Brown (delisted), Tom Fullarton (delisted), Marty Hore (delisted), Oliver Sestan (delisted), Will Verrall (delisted) and Charlie Spargo (free agency) also leaving the club this off-season.
