Essendon champion Matthew Lloyd has revealed the best five kicks inside 50 he's seen.

One of the hardest kicks to pull off, the entry pass inside the arc is as important as its ever been with teams now flooding their defensive 50.

Speaking on AFL.com.au, Lloyd explained that the kick inside 50 is the toughest to execute in football.

"Some players make you better, and tell you where to lead, and others you just drop your head hoping for the best when they have the football. There is a real art to it, you've got to weight the ball, you've got to place it," he said.

Lloyd counted down from 5-1...

Lloyd said: "This may surprise some that I have the Diesel in there because he's renowned for being arguably the best handballer in the history of the game. His ability to screw the ball across his body into the path of Stephen Kernahan often at Carlton was just exquisite"
