Essendon champion Matthew Lloyd has revealed his top five finals performers.

Speaking on explained that the players who stood up on the big September stage should be regarded as the all-time greats.

Lloyd counted down from 5-1…

5. Gary Ablett Sr.

Lloyd said: “The 1989 Grand Final is the best game that I’ve seen. In a losing side, for Ablett to be able to kick nine goals and win a Norm Smith Medal stays with me forever. He was grabbing balls out of the ruck and snapping balls over his shoulder. He had many other great finals other than that one, but that one resonates with so many people as possibly the greatest individual performance in a final that anyone has ever seen.”
