Get excited Roos fans - Majak Daw is back!
The North Melbourne defender is set to make his return to senior football in Friday night's Marsh Community Series clash against the Western Bulldogs.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Kangaroos coach Rhyce Shaw confirmed Daw would line up against the Bulldogs.
"It's been a long journey for him and he's really put his head down and stuck to his task and really re-educated himself on what it takes to be an AFL footballer," Shaw said.
"He's done that and he's built up really well.
"He knows he's in for a tough battle with our backline – no one's given a game – so he's got to perform but we're really pleased with where he's at right now."
The 28-year old has not played at the top level since two seasons ago, having been sidelined for most of last season after breaking his hip in December 2018.
Daw played four games for North Melbourne's VFL side last year and was a return to senior before a hamstring injury ended his season.
Shaw also revealed that recruits Aidan Bonar and Josh Walker will take the field in the Roos' opening pre-season clash.
