Collingwood and Richmond have confirmed further list changes ahead of this week's opening round of the 2022 AFLW season.

The Magpies have promoted VFLW midfielder Olivia Meagher to their senior squad after Joanna Lin was placed on the club's inactive list due to a shoulder injury.

Lin suffered an anterior shoulder dislocation at pre-season training last year and has since gone under the knife, keeping the teenager sidelined for the foreseeable future.

Her absence has opened up an opportunity for Meagher, who is a former member of the AFLW Academy and an ex-Eastern Ranges captain.

“We’re delighted to have Olivia join us as a replacement player in 2022,” Burger said.

“Having been involved in our women’s football program for some time now, Olivia has developed strong relationships within our club and is well respected amongst the group.

“This is a great opportunity for Olivia to take her game to the next level and we look forward to watching her further develop as a player and person in our program.”

The Magpies are set to begin their new campaign against Carlton at Ikon Park on Sunday at 4:10pm.

Meanwhile, Richmond have also confirmed defender Hannah McLaren has been placed on the club's inactive list.

The 22-year-old has been sidelined due to illness, with the club confirming her absence on Wednesday.

“Hannah has been unwell due to a medical condition over the past month and unfortunately will not be in a position to participate this AFLW season,” Richmond Head of Women’s Football Kate Sheahan said.

“Hannah is a resilient character with a great network around her. She is a popular member of our group, and we all hope to see her back to full health soon.

“We will continue to support Hannah and her family however possible until she gets through this.”

Mclaren has been replaced by Casey Demons VFLW midfielder Meg Macdonald on the Tigers' primary list.

An impressive campaign with the Demons has warranted Macdonald's promotion, with the 23-year-old expressing her delight on being granted an opportunity at the elite level.

"It is not something I ever would have thought I was capable of," she said.

"Before the last couple of years, I probably would have put it past me, but after a good (VFLW) season, I realised it was maybe within my reach, and I have worked really hard for a couple of years to try and get here.

"It is life-changing."

The Tigers will open the AFLW season when they clash with the Saints at Skybus Stadium, Frankston on Friday night.
