Collingwood AFLW defender Stacey Livingstone labelled Carlton forward Tayla Harris "useless" if you take away her aerial ability.

Livingstone shut down Harris as the Pies beat the Blues by 15 points at Ikon Park on Sunday and told Channel 7 after the game that her job was pretty one dimensional.

"This is year four so Iโ€™d like to think that I know how to play on her already. But you have just got to stop her in the air. Thatโ€™s her game. If you can do that, sheโ€™s useless.โ€

Livingstone then doubled down on the comments in her post-match press conference.

"Sheโ€™s pretty good. It was a bit of smack talk. Youโ€™ve just got to stop her run to the ball and if you can stop her aerially, she doesnโ€™t do all that much."

Speaking on Triple M on Monday morning, The Pies defender admitted she could've reworded her claims

โ€œI probably could have chosen my words better,โ€ she said.

โ€œBut I do feel if you take her out of the air contest somehow then you should have her covered.โ€

According toย The Herald Sun,ย Livingstone reached out to Harris on Sunday night to apologise, which is believed to have been accepted by the star Blue.

Harris did initially respond on Twitter, responding to a Channel Seven post to say she wished the two teams would meet again in finals.

Speaking to the Herald Sun on Monday, Harris wasn't willing to add any fuel to the discussion.

โ€œIโ€™m really not phased by it,โ€ she said.

โ€œSheโ€™s apologised, so I donโ€™t want to add useless commentary.โ€
