The Western Bulldogs have made a big late change just minutes before the opening bounce of their clash with Brisbane at the Gabba.

Reigning Norm Smith Medallist Jason Johannisen has been ruled out, and captain Robert Murphy will come in.

Murphy was originally left out of the Dogs' side for this clash, with coach Luke Beveridge labelling Murphy as a "travelling emergency".

Brisbane will go in as selected.
