GWS captain Toby Greene revealed that he "knocked out" his "extremely drunk" father in the rooms after the devastating 2019 grand final loss to Richmond.

In a candid confession in the new AFL documentary Final Siren, Greene opened up on the incident.

"I knocked him out in the change rooms because he was drunk and carrying on," Greene said in the first episode of Prime Video series.

"He's pretty loud and boisterous and he's extremely drunk.

"And I was just embarrassed and just told him to F … off and punched him.

"So, yeah, it's hard.

"Like the reason I love footy is because of him and got into it.

"That's what I'll take with me and then you learn your lessons from some things that he's done that you can't do."

The relationship between the pair is difficult, and was forced into the public eye when Greene's father was jailed after headbutting a female cop in 2019.

The docuseries also takes viewers into behind-the-scenes of the Giants captain's on-field antics, and how it impacts his family.

Greene's fiancé is vocal about her frustration regarding the countless suspensions and fines, saying that she is "sick of it".

Zero Hanger was at the Wednesday premiere at the MCG, viewing the first two episodes of the four-part series in an exclusive early screening.
