The Crows' off-season period is paying dividends after they thumped Sydney in Round 12, with their two notable recruits both entering the Power Rankings for the first time.
A Docker is creeping back up the rankings while an All-Australian performance out west has solidified a star Cat's stranglehold on first place.
Who's making the most impact in their new colours? Welcome to the weekly rankings of the Recruit of the Year contenders for 2025, with Round 12 giving us plenty to consider.
7. James Peatling (-1)
Adelaide's romping of Sydney allowed almost every facet of this premiership fancy to shine through, from their stout defence to their thrilling forward line. Whether Peatling starts on the bench or not, he's hit the ground running in every game this season and Saturday night was no different, racking up his seventh game with 20 or more disposals.
That officially means he's had more games of that nature in the first half of this season than he's had in the prior four seasons of his AFL career, having surpassed the 20-disposal mark just six times before 2025. It demonstrates that not only has Peatling become one of the more consistent players in the competition for Adelaide, but is genuinely one of the most improved players of this season.
Considering that the Crows gave up just a second-round pick for Peatling, the clear value of his return makes him one of the steals of the off-season.
