Adelaide midfielder Rory Sloane is set to have surgery on Tuesday to remove his appendix.
The midfielder complained of abdominal pain to the club's doctors on Tuesday morning, and after hours of tests and examinations, Sloane was told he would need to have surgery.
In a statement on afc.com.au, the Crows are "hopeful" their star midfielder will be fit and available to face GWS in next Thursday's Qualifying Final at Adelaide Oval.
The 27-year-old has played every game for the Crows so far in 2017, and has averaged 24.6 disposals, 8.1 tackles (3rd in the competition), 4.6 inside 50s (15th) and 6.3 clearances (13th) per game.
Sloane becomes the second Crow to have his appendix removed this season, after Eddie Betts missed round 19 due to the same injury.
