Western Bulldogs midfielder Jackson Macrae has signed a long-term contract extension that has seen him secure his future at the Kennel.

Macrae, who was already contracted for the 2018 season, has signed on for an addition four years, tying him to the club until the end of 2022.

Dogs' List Manager Jason McCartney told the club's website they were very impressed with his 2017 campaign, and were thrilled he was ready to re-commit.

“Jackson took his game to another level in 2017, and has become one of our most consistent performers,” McCartney told westernbulldogs.com.au

“While he is already an important member of our midfield, he still has massive upside, and it’s fantastic to see him recommit for the long term.”

The 2016 premiership player continued on his strong form and had an impressive season this year, averaging 27.5 disposals, 5.8 tackles and 3.9 clearances per game.

“It was an easy decision for me to recommit to the Bulldogs, because I’ve loved playing for the Club and am excited about what the future holds,” Macrae told the club's website.

“I’m proud to be on the verge of being a 100-game player at the Club, and motivated to continue to improve my game every season.

“I believe we have a young and talented group which is capable of achieving more success in the coming years, and I want to be a part of that.”
