Port Adelaide have officially lodged an offer for West Coast ruckman Scott Lycett, on a five-year deal reportedly worth around $3 million.

Lycett toured Alberton on Thursday, and the South Australia native has decided to return home to play for the Power in 2019.

The Eagles now have three days to match the bid, which would force the Power into making a trade.

The 26-year-old waiting until after West Coast's best and fairest night on Friday to make his decision, and has turned down a chance to play for St Kilda to return to South Australia.

Lycett played all 25 games this season for the Eagles, and registered nine disposals, four tackles and one mark in their thrilling grand final win over the Pies last Saturday.
