Out-of-contract Port Adelaide midfielder Jared Polec has nominated North Melbourne as his preferred desination, as reported by Ten News Adelaide.

The Kangaroos launched a lucrative offer at Polec worth approximately $700,000 per season, enough to convince the South Australian to move to Victoria.

North Melbourne and Port Adelaide will now negotiate a suitable trade to get Polec to Arden Street.

The news was revealed by Channel 10's Nick Butler today via Twitter.

Originally taken with pick five by the Lions at the 2010 draft, the silky onballer moved to the Power at the end of 2013.

The 25-year old has played 90 games over five seasons, enjoying a breakout campaign in 2018 where he averaged a career-best 25.1 disposals.
