Essendon legend James Hird has been hit by a car while riding his bike in Richmond on Wednesday afternoon.
Hird was out riding on Burnley Street before being collected by a car, and was subsequently taken to the Epworth hospital.
The 2000 Norm Smith Medallist was taken to hospital with non-life threatening wrist and knee injuries.
