MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - SEPTEMBER 23: Brett Deledio of the Giants looks dejected after a loss in his 250th game against his former side to go through to the grand final during the 2017 AFL Second Preliminary Final match between the Richmond Tigers and the GWS Giants at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on September 23, 2017 in Melbourne, Australia. Giants veteran Brett Deledio’s season could be over after injuring his calf against the Blues during their clash at Etihad Stadium.

He is not the only sore Giant, with star forward Toby Greene (hamstring tightness), defender Sam Taylor (hamstring) and ruckman Dawson Simpson (ankle) also facing health concerns.

Deledio and Taylor’s injuries appear to be the most serious, with both players being put on ice. It is a serious concern for Deledio, who has struggled to get on the park for much of his time as a Giant due to his dodgy calf.

It also leaves GWS without any players to interchange in the fourth quarter.
