Cy Walsh, the son of former Adelaide Crows coach, Phil, has been detained for life under a mental health order over the death of his father.

Walsh was found not guilty of the murder of his father in September this year, for reasons of mental incompetence.

The court was satisfied that he killed his father, however, also concluded that he is not criminally responsible for the crime due to his mental incompetence.

“I find he was suffering from a psychotic episode as a result of schizophrenia, which at the time of the conduct was undiagnosed,” Justice Bampton said at the time.

As a result, Cy Walsh will spend the remainder of his life in a psychiatric institution.

The court heart that Cy believed he heard voices from another dimension and at times believes his father was the devil.
