AFL clubs have been told there will not be a pre-season trade period in 2020, keeping player movement periods to just at the end of the year.
According to The Age, clubs were informed on Monday morning, with the idea of a pre-season trade period shelved at least for another 12 months.

The player movement period was mooted to be in effect from after the final pre-season game, until the season opener.
