Western Bulldogs forward Mitch Honeychurch has been withdrawn from Sunday's clash with Essendon at Etihad Stadium.

Lukas Webb has been brought into the side to replace Honeychurch, while veteran Matthew Boyd has been added to the emergencies.

Honeychurch has played in the Dogs' last six matches since being brought into the side for his first game of the season against Melbourne in round 13.

The 22-year-old has struggled in front of goal this season, and booted eight behinds before finally kicking a major against Carlton a fortnight ago.

Webb has only featured in two matches for the reigning premiers so far this season, playing in back-to-back losses against West Coast and Geelong in rounds 8-9.
