AFLW set for major rule change in grand final

The AFL have reportedly added a significant rule change for the AFLW grand final, with time-on after points and for out of bounds introduced for the first time this season according to Fairfax Media.

With the match being moved from the Gabba to Metricon Stadium after turf issues, the AFL have added this new ruling that's set to extend each quarter by approximately three minutes.

During the regular season, the clock only stopped for goals and injury delays that required a stretcher.

If scores are tied at the end of the final quarter the game will go into a minimum of 10 minutes of extra-time, in keeping with the new rules in the AFL.

Should the scores still be level after the 10 minutes, a "golden point" rule would take place and the first side to score would win the game.
