Adelaide Crows' defender Matthew Jaensch was caught drink driving by Police on Friday night.
Jaensch recorded a blood alcohol reading of more than two times the legal limit when he was pulled over for a random breath test while driving on the southern outskirts of Adelaide.
The club released a statement today but did not outline a sanction for the 25-year-old who is currently out injured after rupturing his ACL earlier this season.
“Injured defender Matthew Jaensch was caught drink driving on the southern outskirts of Adelaide on Friday night”, the Crows said in a statement.
“Jaensch, who is recovering from major knee surgery, was the sole occupant of a car stopped by police.
“The club is extremely disappointed by his actions and views this as a serious breach of our standards, not to mention those of the wider community.”
Jaensch's licence was suspended for six months, he had his car impounded for 28 days and he will face the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a date to be confirmed.
