The Camporeale brothers are keen to make AFL history next year, setting their sights on becoming the first father-son twins to feature in the same game for their father's club.

It comes after an up-and-down rookie campaign for both Ben and Lucas, with Lucas managing three AFL games, while an ankle injury and suspension in the VFL meant Ben was unable to crack the senior side in 2025.

Lucas thrilled Blues fans in his debut, recording 20 disposals and five tackles in front of 80 thousand fans in Round 1 against Richmond, but a less impactful Round 2 performance saw him dropped to the reserves for the remainder of the year, seeing out his rookie season as a substitute against Essendon in Round 24.

Lucas said his debut was a proud moment but hopes he can do something similar with Ben in 2026.

“I'm really proud to carry on the tradition of my family. To see Dad do it in the first game of his debut season and then for me to do it, it was pretty special," Lucas told Channel 9.

"I'm in my second year now, I'm looking forward to hopefully getting a few more.

“The next goal is doing it with Ben, that'll be pretty cool.”

Ben highlighted his desire to crack the senior squad and believes the time spent in the AFL environment in his rookie year has bolstered his development.

"To get a game would be pretty special and make a name for myself," Ben said.

“In my second year now, I know what it's about. We've got a really special group coming through. Hopefully I can get through a healthy pre-season, build connections with the boys and hit the ground running."

Ben shared a similar sentiment to Lucas on the potential of sharing the hallowed turf together at some point next year.

"I'd be lying if we said we didn't speak about it very often. Last year we thought it might've happened, but it didn't pan out the way we wanted to,” Ben said.

"To walk out on the MCG or anywhere in the Carlton guernsey arm in arm would be pretty special."

Carlton's first-to-fourth year players return to the club for pre-season today.
